Shipping Pets To Singapore

This is a summary of the main points only.

  • Animals must be shipped in IATA approved transit kennels that allow the animal to stand up without touching the top of the box, lie down and turn around.
  • There is currently no quarantine for cats and dogs entering Singapore from the UK as long as all the paperwork is completed correctly and the animals are clinically healthy on entry.
  • All pets must be de-wormed with a product effective against internal parasites (nematodes and cestodes) within 2 - 7 days prior to export. Active ingredient and date of treatment must be noted on the original documents (vaccination card) and preferably on the Export Health Certificate.
  • Flea and Tick treatments with a product effective against external parasites administered between 2 - 7 days prior to export. Again this will need to be recorded on the vaccination card and preferably on the Export Health Certificate.
  • Importing dog to Singapore, please note: there are restrictions on certain breeds of dog. Please check that your animal is not in one of these categories.

From the UK the following paperwork is required:

An Import Permit obtained from Singapore.

An Official Export Health Certificate, which must be applied for from APHA. This must be completed and certified by your OV within 7 days prior to export.

A written declaration stating that the animal has not been imported into Great Britain during the last six months.

All dogs to be exported should be fitted with a microchip that is ISO compatible or the owner or owners agent must be able to provide to the Singapore authorities a reader that is able to read the microchip.

Dogs must be aged not less than 12 weeks at the time of export. A written declaration to this effect must be given to the Official Veterinarian.

Dogs must be vaccinated against Canine Distemper, Canine Hepatitis and Canine Parvovirus.

Dogs must be accompanied by an original vaccination certificate showing the Microchip number.

Owners should check the Import Permit for any additional requirements.
